Amit Tandon
Amit Tandon
Amit is the founder and CEO at Polycycl and brings over 20 years of experience with development of engineering technologies, of which 10+ years have been in the field of chemical recycling. He holds multiple international patents related to the sector and has over the years co-ordinated Polycycl’s efforts in advancing a circular economy for waste plastics.
A hands-on engineer and avid tinkerer, Amit also leads Polycycl's passion quotient and capacity building. A strong evangelist for the role of chemical recycling in building a plastic-to-plastic closed loop, he has presented technical papers and talks in various conferences across US, Europe, India and South East Asia.
Before his foray to develop environmental technologies, Amit worked in the semiconductor sector across startups and Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley, California. He was part of the methodology team at Sun Microsystems, where he played a significant role in development of the Niagara super-processor chip, which was the fastest processor of its time.

Srinivas Mazumdar
Srinivas Mazumdar
Srinivas is CTO at Polycycl and brings over 30 years of experience across technology R&D, process design, engineering scaleup, project commissioning, production and technology transfer roles.
His work spans various industries including polymers, petrochemicals, agrochemical and fine chemicals with notable stints at SABIC, GE Plastics and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories. In his roles, he has successfully led team of engineers and scientists and designed methodologies that enhance operational efficiency of chemical plants, while reducing their capital and operational expenditure.
Srinivas is also ex-founder member and CTO of Polygenta, India’s first chemical recycling company, where he successfully spearheaded the process development and technology implementation of a 100 TPD project which recycled PET bottle waste to synthetic yarns.
Srinivas has a bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering (1986) and is a first-class post-graduate from IIM (K).
Dr. Ramakrishnan Iyer
Dr. Ramakrishnan Iyer
Dr. Ram Iyer brings to Polycycl over 30 years of experience with the design, development, scale-up and commercialization of intricate chemical, petro-chemical and refinery plants.
He has a doctorate in chemical engineering from UDCT (Mumbai) and has spearheaded several large chemical projects including at his stints with Reliance, UHDE and Aditya Birla group.
Dr. Iyer’s key expertise is with design, engineering and scale-up of technologies from early research to commercialization. He is well-versed with thermodynamic modeling, development of correlation models and managing efficient scale-up of thermal reactors and distillation systems.
His proficiency extends to implementing advanced process control (APC) for
crucial processes such as delayed coker, crude unit and FCC and their optimizations for
increased efficiency and reduced operational costs.
In the operational sphere, Dr. Iyer has overseen the commissioning and operation of large chemical plants, including his significant role as Chief Technologist for Reliance’s Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB) plant at Patalganga, India.
Dr. Vivek Patil
Dr. Vivek Patil
Dr. Patil brings to Polycycl deep expertise in the research and development of thermo-catalytic conversion processes. His doctoral dissertation was focused on the co-pyrolysis of synthetic and natural polymers and he has hands-on experience with both early-stage pilots (<10 kg per hour) and large-scale chemical plant operations (>1 million tons per year).
An articulate technical storyteller, Vivek has also published several peer-reviewed and prize-winning articles and posters. He firmly believes that the solution to the critical problems of our times lies at the intersection of science, human ingenuity and collaboration. A staunch environmentalist, he has written extensively on the challenge of post-use plastics.
Chitransh Panwar
Chitransh Panwar
Chitransh is a Research Scientist at PolyCycl, supporting R&D development and process chemistry across the company’s chemical recycling platform. He holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
His work focuses on data-driven experimentation, analytical validation and performance benchmarking to support technology optimisation. He is proficient in advanced analytical and characterisation techniques, including GC, HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, TGA, XRD, NMR and ICP-MS and is experienced in translating experimental data into actionable insights for process refinement, yield optimisation and contaminant control.
Chitransh contributes to PolyCycl’s sustainability-driven innovation efforts by combining rigorous experimentation with applied chemistry and has co-authored peer-reviewed publications in nanomaterials and applied chemistry.
Chaitanya Patil
Chaitanya Patil
Chaitanya is a Process & Technology Engineer at Polycycl, driving end-to-end process design, scale-up, and technology integration for sustainable plastic recycling solutions. With a strong foundation in chemical engineering and hands-on experience across plant operations, process safety, and equipment troubleshooting, he bridges theoretical design with real-world execution to build efficient, scalable, and innovative process technologies. He holds a B.E in Chemical Engineering from the University of Mumbai (2022) and an M.Tech from IIT Kanpur (2025), where his thesis explored next-gen electrolytes for solid-state sodium-ion batteries.
Shlok Agarwal
Shlok Agarwal
Shlok is a Process and Technology Engineer at Polycycl, responsible for engineering design, theoretical modelling, and practical implementation. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (2025).
Shlok has a strong foundation in core chemical engineering principles and is skilled in tools such as MATLAB, Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, Python and Machine Learning as well. He has worked on research projects involving Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulations using MUSEN and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling in COMSOL.
Rupesh Nain
Rupesh Nain
Rupesh Nain is a Research Associate – Technology and Innovation at Polycycl, where he leads hands-on experimental work and manages laboratory instruments and equipment, forming the foundation for scale-up in industrial chemical processes. He holds a Master's degree in Chemistry from IIT Gandhinagar, where he was awarded the Institute Silver Medal, and a Bachelor's in Chemistry (Hons) from the University of Delhi. Academically outstanding throughout, he has cleared national-level exams including CSIR-NET, GATE, and TIFR-GS 2025. He interned at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, working on the detailed characterization of crude oil to study flow behaviour in pipelines. His Master's thesis on electron-proton transfer mediators in oxygen reduction reactions is currently under review in an RSC journal.
Dr. Edward Beardsworth
Dr. Edward Beardsworth
Dr. Edward Beardsworth brings Polycycl a deep, nuanced understanding of the cleantech industry and ecosystem gained over 30+ years as a physicist, technology scout and strategic advisor to corporate and investor clients.
After earning a Ph.D. in physics, Ed held positions at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and established an independent consultancy, Energy Technology Advisors, to provide numerous utility clients with detailed knowledge of energy R&D at the national laboratories.
Ed was also the Technical Director for The Hub Lab and Associate Director at Jane Capital Partners, where he worked with major energy corporations to develop programs for strategic ventures and acquisitions. He is based in Palo Alto, California.
KD Fatnani
KD Fatnani
Mr. Fatnani has a B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai and
brings over 30+ years of experience with design, engineering and project execution of large
chemical and petroleum projects.
He has been the divisional director at Mott MacDonald, India, where he was
responsible for the business development and execution of numerous large-scale projects in the
chemical and refining space.
Eugene Jones
Eugene Jones
A serial entrepreneur, Gene has successfully founded, built and sold several businesses, including Advanced Derived Fuels and Hazardous Substance and Waste Management Research Inc., over the past 30 years.
Gene is based in Florida and brings a vast network of associations in the recycling sector from his work with conferences such as the Waste-to-Fuels, the Southeast Recycling Conference, the International Society of Technical & Environmental Professionals Inc. and the National Conference on Waste Exchange and Resource Reuse.
Gene also serves as CEO of Southern Waste Information Exchange (SWIX), a non-profit which has since 1981 been assisting businesses and municipalities with their waste management issues.
Larry Buckle
Larry Buckle
He is the former CTO of Organic Energy Corporation - an advanced solid waste separation and renewable energy company and heads IES - an engineering and environmental service firm for waste management and wastewater treatment.
An insider to the field of chemical recycling, Larry has worked closely on the Smuda process to convert polyolefinic waste plastics to liquid distillates and is also an inventor of a process to depolymerize PETE plastics back to their original constituents.
Larry has an A.S. in Physics from Ricks College, a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University and a Diploma in Emerging Leader Development from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Nitin Vaish

Nitin is a product leader, strategist and general manager focusing on
commercializing decarbonization solutions at scale, including solar, lithium-ion batteries,
fuel cells, green hydrogen and biotech.
He brings to Polycycl strong experience in successfully launching new products, growing companies in the climate-tech space and raising capital.Nitin has a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai, an M.S. from Northwestern University and an MBA from MIT Sloan.
